Meet Sydney

Sydney Lerner is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in New York with a relational, psychodynamic approach to therapy. She completed her undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University and earned her Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Northwestern University in 2022.

As a relational therapist, Sydney believes that our relationships—both with others and ourselves—are key to our emotional well-being. She works with clients to explore the patterns in their relationships and helps them understand how past experiences influence how they connect with others and navigate challenges. By creating a strong, trusting relationship in therapy, Sydney helps clients build deeper self-awareness, improve communication, and develop healthier ways of relating. Drawing from both relational and psychodynamic approaches, she empowers clients to recognize and understand the impact of past experiences on present behaviors, emotions, and relationships, ultimately helping them make meaningful changes and find greater fulfillment in their lives.

In her free time, Sydney enjoys practicing yoga and spending time with her cat, finding balance and inspiration in both.
